Life is a highway …

To say ‘Life is a highway’ would be an understatement. I’ve had an amazing career and a life full of experiences, good fortune and some truly memorable moments.

My highway started years ago in the late 1970s at Labatt’s in the Concert & Entertainment Division. On my way to becoming National Promotions Manager, I spent a lot of time on the road making sure our company’s brand was front and centre as some of the biggest International and Canadian names in the business such as The Rolling Stones, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Brian Adams, Tragically Hip, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Neil Young and Tom Cochrane toured across the country. Our portfolio also included theatrical productions like Cats, The Buddy Holly Story , festivals like Toronto International Film Festival, awards shows such as the Junos, Toronto Music Awards, the Canadian Country Awards and movie promotions like Road House starring Patrick Swayze and featuring Canadian recording artists the Jeff Healy Band.

It was a big job, and no matter who was on stage, how big the crowd, or what city we were in, the focus was always marketing our product and getting our message out to the audience.

For almost 20 years, I earned my MBA on the road working with the best advertising and promotional agencies in North America.

Times may have changed, but the basics of marketing, messaging and branding have not. Today I’m the CEO & Founder of SWAT Media Group Inc., a small full-service media agency that collaborates with the best-in-class industry partners to offer a wide range of expertise to meet all of your branding, advertising & promotional needs.
